Semak Keputusan SPM Lama: Cara Check Online
Your old SPM result may be needed for a job application, university admission, or official documentation. The good news is you can retrieve it online through the Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) portal. This guide covers every method to check, verify, and reprint your SPM results regardless of when you sat for the exam.
Online Method: e-Lembaga Peperiksaan Portal
The e-Lembaga Peperiksaan (e-LP) portal is the official online platform managed by KPM for checking and reprinting examination results. It works for SPM results from 2004 onwards.
Follow these steps to check your old SPM result online.
- Visit the e-LP website at elp.moe.gov.my.
- Create a new account using your MyKad number if you are a first-time user. Existing users can log in directly.
- After logging in, click on Salinan Keputusan from the main menu.
- Click the Add button on the right side of the page to start a new request.
- Select SPM from the list of available examinations.
- Enter your examination year and verify your personal details.
- Choose your preferred collection method: pick up at the KPM office in Putrajaya or home delivery (additional RM10 fee).
- Pay the RM30 processing fee online using a debit or credit card.
- Wait for your result slip or certificate to be processed and delivered.
The processing time is typically 7 to 14 working days. You will receive a notification via email or SMS when your document is ready.
Checking Recent SPM Results
Students who recently completed their SPM can check results through a different process. Recent results are available within 2 weeks of the official announcement date.
SMS Method
Send an SMS in this format: SPM [space] IC Number [space] Angka Giliran to 15888. This service is available during the results release period and costs a standard SMS fee.
School Collection
Results are distributed to schools on the official release date. Students collect their result slips directly from their school. If you missed the collection, contact your school’s administrative office to arrange a later pickup.
KPM Portal
The KPM official website publishes results during the announcement period. Visit the website and enter your IC number and Angka Giliran to view your results. This method is only available for a limited time after the results are released.
Retrieving Old Results Before 2004
SPM results from before 2004 require a different approach because they may not be available in the e-LP digital system. These older records were managed under the previous examination system.
Contact Lembaga Peperiksaan Directly

Submit a Written Request
You can also submit a written request by mail or email. Include a photocopy of your MyKad (front and back), the year you sat for the examination, and the name of your school. A processing fee may apply, and the turnaround time is typically 2 to 4 weeks.
Reprinting a Lost or Damaged SPM Certificate
You can request a certified reprint of your SPM certificate through the e-LP portal. This reprint carries the same validity as the original document for employment and university applications.
Steps to Reprint
The reprint process follows the same steps as checking results online through the e-LP portal.
- Log in to elp.moe.gov.my with your account.
- Navigate to Salinan Keputusan and click Add.
- Select SPM and confirm your examination year.
- Fill in the required personal details and verify the information.

Other Certificates Available
The e-LP portal also handles reprints for STPM, SPMU, MPV, MPAV, MCE, PMR, SRP, and LCE certificates. Select the correct examination type during the request process.
Common Reasons to Retrieve Old SPM Results
Many Malaysians need their old SPM results years after the examination. Understanding the most common scenarios helps you prepare the right documents.
Job Applications
Many employers in Malaysia require SPM results as part of the hiring process, especially for entry-level and semi-skilled positions. Government agencies and GLC companies typically ask for certified copies of your SPM certificate during the interview stage.
University and College Admission
Local and international universities may request your SPM results for admission or credit transfer purposes. Some postgraduate programmes also require proof of SPM-level qualifications as a baseline.
Scholarship Applications
Scholarship providers like MARA, JPA, and Yayasan-based funds often require SPM results to verify academic qualifications. Even applicants who already hold a degree may need to submit their SPM results.
Updating Personal Records
If your name or IC number has changed since you sat for SPM, you may need to reprint your certificate with updated details. The e-LP portal allows you to request corrections alongside a reprint.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Some users encounter problems when trying to access old SPM results online. These are the most common issues and how to resolve them.
Account Registration Problems
If you cannot register on the e-LP portal, ensure your MyKad number matches the one used during your SPM examination. Married women whose names have changed should use their original MyKad number first, then request a name update after logging in.
Results Not Found in System
For SPM results before 2004, the e-LP system may return no records. In this case, visit or contact the Lembaga Peperiksaan office directly. Bring any supporting documents you have to help locate your records.
Payment Issues
The e-LP portal accepts online payments via debit and credit cards. If payment fails, try using a different card or browser. You can also call the Lembaga Peperiksaan helpline at 03-8884 4000 for assistance.
Long Processing Times
Standard processing takes 7 to 14 working days. During peak periods (after SPM results are announced), processing may take longer. If your request exceeds 30 days, contact the Lembaga Peperiksaan office with your application reference number.
